Chi Nei Tsang

Chi Nei Tsang originated in Taoist China and is a holistic approach to massage. Rather like acupuncture, Chi Nei Tsang holds that negative emotions are held in the organs and can cause 'blockages' which interfere with the body's energy flow, or 'Qi'. This imbalance creates 'toxic winds' – or stuck energy – that causes of many illnesses.

The abdominal area – the body's energy centre – is regarded as the most important focus when dealing with blocked energy. Even when certain events have been dealt with by the mind, the emotions of a trauma can be stored in the body as toxic wind and released via work on the stomach.

Chi Nei Tsang practitioners work mainly by massaging the abdominal area, often using strong touch to 'chase' and expel the winds. The process helps to detoxify the body and boost the efficiency of the internal organs that are associated with the specific emotions. The technique addresses everything from digestion to respiration and musculo-skeletal and everything in between.

The process can occasionally be uncomfortable, but is often life changing.
